About A.T. Wall
  • Founded in 1886. Ashbel Tingley Wall started the company in Providence to make precious-metal tubing and jewelry findings for Rhode Island’s jewelry industry, which was very large at the time.
  • Moved into industrial products. Over the 20th century the company went from jewelry work to industrial metal products: seamless cold-drawn specialty tubing, precision waveguide tubing for RF and microwave uses, and metal stampings, including drawn and coined parts. Its customers came to include medical, aerospace, defense, telecommunications, electronics and automotive companies.
  • Moved to Warwick, RI. The company left Providence for Warwick in the late 1960s.
  • Between 1980 & 1996 – A.T. Wall acquired a number of companies in a variety of metal fabrication companies in both the U.K. and the U.S. One of the first acquisitions was Judson A. Smith Company.
  • Business Reorganization – Between 1999 & 2000 the company underwent a significant reorganization: Divesting from U.K. holdings, merging all U.S. operations into 2 Companies and the formation of ATW – the holding company.
  • Today. A.T. Wall is one of three sister companies under ATW Companies. The other two are Judson Smith in Boyertown, PA (tube drawing and fabrication) and Parmatech in Petaluma, CA (metal injection molding). A.T. Wall is ISO 9001:2015 certified and all of its parts are made in the U.S.
  • Family-owned. The company has stayed in the Frost family’s hands throughout all of these years.
